By Joey P. Nacalaban

CRIMINAL Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 10 officials remain confident that the case of the murdered taxi driver will soon be resolved.

Authorities already managed to get cartographic sketches of the two attackers.

Senior Inspector Bernardo Mendoza, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) deputy chief, said his men managed to convince witnesses to come out in the open and identify the taxi driver's attackers.

Still, Mendoza said they are not ruling out the possibility that the two might be long gone from the city. He said they are closing out all exit points to prevent them from escaping.

During the incident, at least three persons declared they saw what happened inside the taxi driven by 27-year-old Ferdinand Buhion.

Buhion, residing at 6th division, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, was found dead along the road of Sitio Macanhan, Carmen last August 13 at 1:45 a.m.

He sustained seven stab wounds in the different parts of his body.

Residents in the area tried to help the victim who was at that time still gasping for breath but to no avail.

Mendoza said the CIDG cartographer was able to draw the faces of the two attackers based on the description of witnesses.

Mendoza also said aside from the witnesses in Macanhan, his men also gathered information about what happened to the victim minutes before he died.

Mendoza said he is also considering a report that Buhion fetched a female singer from one of the city bars and took her to Zayas, Carmen before he was killed.

"When the woman got out, two men boarded the taxi and these men are believed to be the victim's assailants," Mendoza said in Visayan.

Mendoza said police at Bulua recovered the vehicle driven by Buhion in Zone 2 of the said barangay.

Inside the taxi they found a wallet, a mobile phone keypad, a hair strand, and cash amounting to P605.

Jennefer, the victim's wife said, she is willing to file appropriate charges against her husband's killers and hoped they would be arrested soon.
