46 studes assume City Hall's posts

FORTY-six students from different private and public secondary schools here will become counterparts of City Hall officials and department heads during their one-week exposure at City Hall on September 24-28, 2007.

Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, youth director of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, made the announcement saying the elected students are expected to have a productive and memorable exposure as a young legislator in running the city government.

Updates on the Kagay-an Festival 2007

The annual Rotary Youth Week started in 2003 and is held every last week of September since.

Councilor Nacaya further announced that Mayor Constantino Jaraula had allowed the 46 students to visit the charitable institutions and selected flagship programs and tourism spots of the city on Saturday, September 22.

The students will also have the opportunity to share their blessings and special concerns to fellow youths housed at the Tahanan ng Kabataan and Social Development Center.

They will also visit the City Public Library, the City Slaughterhouse, the Mangrove Plantation at Gusa, the Kagay-an Resort, the Calaanan Relocation Site, the Kalahi Training Center, the new building of the JR Borja General Hospital and the Cogon Public Market.

The Rotary Youth City Officials will be led by Rotary Youth City Mayor Eric Seballos of Liceo de Cagayan University.

Seballos shall be the counterpart of City Mayor Constantino Jaraula--himself a distinguished Rotarian--while Erlfred Balandra, that of City Vice Mayor Vicente Emano.

To report to the City Council as regular youth city councilors are: Kariza Darleen Go of Abba's Orchard School, Jefferson Lim of Lapasan National High School, Alisa Belisario of Agusan National High School; Margie Manlunas of Xavier High School, Kristina Escalderon of Bugo National high School, Joan Gales of International School, Angel Carbajal of Capitol University Basic Education; Junalyn Calotes of Macabalan National High School, Bea Almendala of St. Mary's School, Razel Cataluna of Mindanao Polytechnic State College High School, Cielo Escarlet of Carmen National High School; Gaudette Alba of Corpus Christi School, Farhana Macapanton of Balulang National High School, Therese Salazar of Agusan National High School-Puerto Annex, Jess de Gracia of the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School, and Generose Bisoy of Dansolihon National High School.

The Association of Barangay Council and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation will be represented by Anna Jean Anciano of Puntod National High School and Olga Marbella of Kung Hua School, respectively.
