27 NorMin businesses receive DTI-CE awards
AT least 27 commercial establishments in Northern Mindanao have been given recognition by the Department of Trade and Industry under the DTI-Certified Business Establishment/Store (CE) Program.
Regional Director Alicia V. Euse¤a of DTI, Region 10, said the DTI-CE program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers and practice responsible business where consumers indeed get value for their money.

Particularly, the program encourages the setting up of a sustainable Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD) or a DTI recognized customer service counter that provides information to consumers and serves as mechanism for speedy resolution of their complaints.
She said the DTI-CE level of awards include the following: Gold - for establishments which has silver achievement with some elements aligned to International Standard Organization (ISO) 9000, Silver - for those with bronze achievements with social responsibility, and Bronze - for compliance of the Fair Trade Law, i.e., Consumer Act, Price Act, Price Tag Law, Products Standards/ICC Law plus the CWD.
Aimed at ensuring that the organization can time and again deliver the product of services that meet the client's quality requirements, the ISO 9000 family ofstandards represents an international consensus on good management practices.
Meanwhile, Elvira A. Cajegas, chief of the DTI-10 Consumer Welfare Division, said no commercial establishment in the region has received the "Gold" level of award, but 27 of our CEs have been cited in their respective categories:
