Third blaze razes Xavier Heights
By Stephen Capillas

TWO houses got burned down while one was partially damaged in a blaze that razed a portion of the relocation site in Block 58, Xavier Heights Subdivision in Upper Carmen, this city at past 5 a.m. Monday.

According to City Fire Marshal Oscar Abecia, the fire started at the master bedroom of Pablo Nayve, which then spread to the neighboring houses of Ciriaco Radoc and Lorena Ubalde.

The two houses were made of light materials.

The Cagayan de Oro Fire Station personnel estimated the damages at more than P50,000.

Abecia said they are still finishing their investigation into the incident.

Volunteers from the neighboring Pueblo de Oro and Xavier Estates fire brigades helped put out the fire, which lasted for more than 30 minutes.

No one was hurt in the fire outbreak, which is the third to occur in Cagayan de Oro this month.

Last Thursday evening, an 11-year-old girl died in a fire that struck her home in Barangay Bonbon, this city.

Also last Tuesday, a fire razed a house in Valenzuela road leading to the national highway in Sto. Nino, Barangay Lapasan this city.
