Saturday, November 10, 2007 Pagadian battles NBC's Zambo Latinos
PAGADIAN Explorers battle the Zamboanga Latinos Saturday before the home-ground fans as the National Basketball Conference NBC kicks off its pre-season game in Pagadian City.
Backed by Rene "Dodong" Pamaran and supported by Mayor Sammy Co, the Peter Naron-led Explorers hope to make an impression against the newest team in the NBC representing the City of Zamboanga.
The Explorers, which have done major revamp in the line-up, acquired the services of fresh talents led by former PBL player Alwin Espiritu (Montana/ Magnolia), former De la Salle and Cagayan de Oro Rapids Mark Benitez, Jay Sierra (Far Eastern Insurance PBL), Cyril Santiago (Far Eastern University) and Orly Daroya (Arellano University).
Backing them up are PBA veterans Peter Naron and Michael Orquillas, former Misor cager Orvil Saludsod, local talents Ata Ayuk, Perzius Sinco, Rex Quilo, Rene Pamaran, Kenneth Singedas, Emmanuel Onabia and Don Don Polo.
The Explorers have also tapped Alvin Grey to be the team's head coach with Glicerio Pescador III as assistant coach.
The Zamboanga Latinos will be led by team manager Reynold Langyon, head coach Edny Morones, and assistant coach Paulino Rebollos.
Line up for the Latinos: Alvin John Munio, Rolando Junie Navarro Jr., Jose Carlo Araojo, Cristopher Concepcion, Michaelo Mendoza, Emrey Ramirez, Tan Tan Pareno, Ether Chua, Darwin Cordero, Joemie Alvarez, Bong Botin and Rey Dumapig.
