Monday, November 19, 2007 CID holds sportsfest for city scholars
TO promote camaraderie among City Government scholars, the Community Improvement Division Office (CID) of the City Mayor's Office recently initiated the Kaalam Sportsfest 2007 in Barangay Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro.
Josephine Tolentino, population program officer III of the CID, disclosed that the sportsfest was participated in by some 173 city scholar coming from the various barangays in the city.
Among the events played during the recently held sports fest are badminton, basketball, volleyball, chess, patintero, sack race and tug of war.
The city scholars who participated in the events were grouped into 13 competing teams based on the schools they are enrolled in.
The teams included the Xavier University, Capitol University, Lourdes College, Cagayan de Oro College, Mindanao Polytechnic State College, Liceo de Cagayan University, Pilgrim Christian College, AMA, STI College, ACSAT, Golden Heritage, MOCSAT, Tagoloan College and Bukidnon State College.
The team from the Mindanao Polytechnic State College won as the overall champion in the sports fest.
Winners in the various events are as follows: Basketball-- Mindanao Polytechnic State College; Badminton-- Lourdes College; Volleyball-- Cagayan de Oro College and Patintero-- Lourdes College. (CIO)
