Several provincial jail inmates performed special numbers during a Christmas presentation at the provincial jail grounds last Monday. (Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro/Joey Nacalaban) SUPPORTERS for mayoralty candidate Nilo Pates held a rally in front of the El Salvador City Hall as they voiced confidence it will secure a writ of execution from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) authorizing Pates to sit in as El Salvador mayor. The rally held last Saturday comes on the heels of a vigil that Pates's followers said "was peaceful" and aimed at denouncing the Comelec move issuing a 60-day temporary restraining order (TRO) on a court ruling that declared Pates as El Salvador mayor.
