Friday, February 15, 2008 Chief Justice to grace dinner fellowship
SUPREME Court Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno will visit Cagayan de Oro on February 16 as guest speaker of the dinner fellowship of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (Philippines) Inc.
Puno will speak to more than eight hundred people comprising politicians, judges, justices and businessmen at the Grand Caprice Ballroom at 6:30 in the evening.
A press conference with the local tri media here in the city will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon of the same day at the Grand Caprice restaurant.
He will answer questions on topics on libel laws. He will also explain the Supreme Court's decision with regards to the airing of the controversial "Hello Garci" tape from 2004 presidential election which the National
Telecommunications Commission and the Secretary of Justice had warned radio stations and television networks against playing.
The chief justice will also lead a tree planting activity at Barangay Nazareth, after the press conference.
Mayor Constantino Jaraula, 1st District Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, 2nd District Congressman Rolando Uy, Vice Governor Norris Babiera, together with the executive justice of Court of Appeals, IBP President and Regional Directors of DENR, DILG, and NTC will join Puno. (Press release)
