Blogging celebrities
By Cheska Peralta

I AM an avid fan of Lea Salonga. I love her voice and when she was chosen for the role of Kim in Miss Saigon, my admiration for her grew. Like many girls, I tried to imitate her voice while singing along "Sun and Moon" and "Last Night of the World". I loved her in Aladdin and in Mulan. Thus, it was to my delight when I found out that she has a blog.

As fans, we are limited to seeing our idols on TV, hearing them over the radio, keeping photos downloaded over the net or satisfied of just watching their latest movie. One gift the blogosphere gave is the accessibility to their thoughts, musings and the like.

Arroyo Watch: Sun.Star blog on President Arroyo

Here are some celebrity bloggers I recommend for you to check out:

KC Concepcion - who doesn't know her? She's the love child of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion. Her latest adventures and misadventures can be found at http://kooki.multiply.com

Lea Salonga - she placed our country on the map when she debuted on Broadway and won awards left and right for her unforgettable performances in musicals and on film. She writes from the heart at http://bigsis222.multiply.com/journal

Jessica Zafra - the twisted writer/journalist well in her element, in her universe at http://jessicarulestheuniverse.com/

Ala Paredes - daughter of APO Hiking Society's Jim Paredes. She writes at http://ala-ism.pansitan.net/ of her travels and more. She has been blogging since 2003.

Francis Magalona - I think he's the most patriotic of all rap artists we have. He blogs about his family and career at http://francismagalona.multiply.com/ He recently won at the 1st Fil-Am Visionary Awards.

Abraham Olandres - a friend of mine said that he's the "Papa Bear" of the pinoy blogosphere. I checked out his site at http://www.yugatech.com/blog/ and found out that this was true. His blog is a variety of technology, life and reviews on the latest in the blogosphere.

Manuel L. Quezon, III - he's the grandson of late President Manuel L. Quezon. His commentary on politics, history and funditry can be found at http://www.quezon.ph/

Maui Taylor - this hot babe has a mind of her own at http://hotbabemaui.multiply.com/journal

Mike Villar - he created the famous (or should I say infamous?) "The Atrocities of Friendster" which led to inspire a lot of satirical posts from other bloggers. However, he writes well and is more than some guy who had nothing to do but look at profile photos in Friendster. His blog is at http://www.mikevillar.com/

Jugs Jugueta - he's a member of the band Itchyworms that gave us songs like "Beer" and "Akin Ka Na Lang". When he's not performing, he maintains his blog at http://dyugs.blogdrive.com/

I'm sure there are a lot of other celebrities and Pinoy bloggers who are already making a name for themselves in the blogosphere. For fans like us, this is such a bonus. Seemingly untouchable before, now we can interact with our favorite stars online. Aren't we the lucky ones?
