THIS Sunday, the yearly celebration of the Feast of the Divine Mercy Hills will be open with a procession at 3 in the morning to be followed by a holy mass to be celebrated by Bishop Elenito Galido of the diocese of Iligan.
At 4:30 in the afternoon of the same day, Bishop Honesto Pacana of Malaybalay will be the principal celebrant of the mass.
Lawyer Guerrero A. Adaza, president of the Divine Mercy Foundation Mindanao Philippines, Inc., announced further that a kumpisal ng bayan will be done in the Divine Mercy Hills from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight by three batches of priests to allow hundreds of penitents from several parts of Mindanao to avail of the sacrament of confession and reconciliation.
Several requests of devotees from Iligan, Ozamiz, Zamboanga, General Santos, Dipolog and Pagadian so with from the towns of Molave, Margosatubig and Aurora of Zamboanga del Sur and that of San Fernando and Don Carlos, Bukidnon to put up tents in an area in the Divine Mercy Hills have been approved by Adaza so the devotees can fully have a satisfactory reflection of what is God's will upon them as the followers of Jesus.
Adaza also stated that the Divine Mercy statue is 90 percent complete and the two concrete stairs are finished for the devotees to reach the third level of the Divine Mercy Hills. He also requested El Salvador City Mayor Emelita Almirante to widen and improve the PSB-Ulaliman roads leading to the Divine Mercy Hills to accommodate hundreds of vehicles during the Holy Week and the Feast of the Divine Mercy.
The police station of El Salvador City headed by Insp. Rolindo Suguillon and the barangay chair of Pedro sa Baculio and Ulaliman, Roy Salvador and Fernando Igloria, respectively, are very cooperative to ensure peace and order in the Divine Mercy Hills, Adaza concluded. (Press release)
