Oro chamber conducts energy forum

THE country's most outstanding chamber of commerce -- the Oro Chamber in partnership with the Traditional Finance Services Ltd. (TFS Energy) based in the United Kingdom (UK) will be conducting a forum on Addressing Energy Concerns on Thursday at the Pryce Plaza Hotel, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

The whole day event will feature discussions on energy-saving topics, which are believed to be helpful in saving local companies' costs to sustain respective business operation.

Industry experts will present the following significant topics:

* Effective lighting
* Triple bottomline through clean development mechanisms
* Carbon finance solutions
* Coal-fired power value

"This is a timely event for local companies especially now that prices of fuel and energy are increasing," said Oro Chamber president Rodolfo Meñes. He is hopeful that the clean development mechanisms will prove to be pragmatic strategies for companies to achieve energy efficiency and savings and eventually sustain the business.

This event is free of charge to Chamber members in good standing. A minimal fee of P300 per person inclusive of buffet lunch, snacks and handouts is pegged for non-Chamber members.

"We hope to sustain similar activities to help member companies and partner organizations enhance their respective productivity and sustainability," Meñes added. The Misamis Oriental Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MOFCCCI) and the Department of Energy (DOE) also support the event.
