PhilAm assists Basilan kids

LAMITAN, Basilan -- Poverty is not a hindrance if one is determined to pursue basic education. This can be gleaned upon the young faces of graduates who proudly marched with parents during the commencement exercises held recently at the Lamitan Central Elementary School (LCES) in Basilan.

Airine M. Francisco, one of the leading students in their batch, hit it right when she delivered her welcome address Thursday morning in Lamitan. "Life is not a bed of roses, we will be encountering obstacles along the way", Francisco told the graduates as proud parents among the crowd listened.
