Monday, April 28, 2008 SM launches Filipino Heritage Festival
THE Department of Tourism-Northern Mindanao in partnership with the Kagay-an Performing Arts and Filipino Heritage Festival Inc. will be having a four-day Filipino Heritage Festival on April 29, 30 and May 1 and 2, at the Atrium, SM City Cagayan de Oro.
This event is in line with the country's celebration of the National Heritage Month, wherein most of the traditional festivities are celebrated.
The DOT-Northern Mindanao and Filipino Heritage Inc. have prepared daily activities from April 29 until May 2 to showcase the richness of our culture through songs and dances, arts and crafts, music and fashion show to display our indigenous fabrics and Mindanao designs.
Special guests from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Filipino Heritage Foundation will be coming over to celebrate the upcoming Filipino Heritage Festival.
"We take pride of informing you that the national organizers unanimously agreed to have the national event to be held here in our region particularly in Cagayan de Oro," director Butch Chan added.
Thus, everyone is invited to visit the Filipino Heritage Exhibit during mall hours on April 29 to May 2 at the Atrium, SM City Cagayan de Oro. (Press release)
