SM employees form human flag to mark Freedom Day

EMPLOYEES of SM City Cagayan de Oro celebrated Independence Day with a twist by doing the human flag formation Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the mall's main entrance, in commemoration of the 110th Philippine Independence Day.

More than 500 employees of the mall administration office, affiliates, and tenants joined in the singing of the Pambansang Awit led by SM Singing Idol regional finalist Ryan Jay Rosete and visual display manager Jenalyn Morales.

SM employees and affiliates wore color-coded shirts -- red, blue, white, and yellow -- to form the flag while singing the national anthem.

The activity was also participated by SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, Toy Kingdom, Ace Hardware, Surplus, Yellow Cab, Banco de Oro and a lot more.

In addition to that, an Independence Day Job Fair initiated by the mall was held at the Carpark building wherein 24 local companies, nine overseas companies, and two non-government organizations (NGOs) participated in the event. A total of 223 applicants registered in the job fair.

The job fair was in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment and People Management Association of the Philippines-Cagayan de Oro chapter. (Press release)
