Dominique Manuta: Miss Kagay-an 2008 candidate
By Mark D. Francisco

EIGHTEEN-year-old Dominique Marie Manuta is no stranger to beauty pageants.

In fact, she's the most angelic looking among the 15 candidates in the Miss Kagay-an tilt this year as she is the most fair-complexioned among them.

Dominique has just got the exact aura and figure to be a beauty princess.

She debuted in the beauty pageant circuit way back in December 2005 when she joined Miss Bulua, which she won.

She was 15 at the time -- a mere junior at Corpus Christi School from Villa Candida Subdivision, Zone 7 in the same barangay -- and was into several competitions yet the judges (which included veteran journalist Uriel Quilinguing and veteran lawyer-cum-accountant Gil Banaag) were wowed and entranced by her beauty.

Barely months after, she joined the Miss Teen Philippines 2006 Northern and Western Mindanao where she was one of the finalists who went to Manila for the national competitions along with Natasha Mills (who eventually became Miss Kagay-an 2007 second runner-up and later a billboard model), fellow Miss Kagay-an 2008 candidate Sybil Sarte, Akiko Ohashi (a half-Japanese who's in the modeling circuit nowadays) and Kenny Yu (somebody tell me where she is right now...lol).

After that, she hibernated from the beauty pageant/modeling circuit for sometime to concentrate in her studies (she's now taking up BS Business Administration at Liceo de Cagayan University).

In spite of that, she was still sought after by event organizers to be an usherette and in fact, she was muse for the Information Directorate (G7) of the Philippine Army's 4th Infantry Division in their summer sportsfest earlier this year.

Now she's back as Miss Kagay-an 2008 candidate number 5. Good luck!
