NATIONAL Statistics Office (NSO) director Salvador Aves initiated an innovation in responding on the food security and preserving the environment concern -- Clean and Green Garden Movement NSO Cares at 68.
The office officially launched the month-long celebration with the theme Pasasalamat at Ibayong Serbisyo sa Sesenta'y Otso. The event started with an Alay Lakad Walk for A Cause activity, creating awareness among its employees and to the general public, regarding the concern of food shortage and environment destruction.
Aves advocates for the relevance of public office in the national issues such as food crisis and degradation of the Mother Earth, which was realized through conceptualizing the said activity.
There are several charitable activities lined up for this month-long celebration such as donation of used clothing in Puntod, medical mission and feeding program as well as conduction of capability building training, information dissemination and mobile registration.
