Monday, August 11, 2008 Emcor launches Miss Kawasaki Fury 2008 By Mark D. Francisco Lifestyle Editor
TO celebrate its golden year and to promote its latest offering, the Kawasaki Fury, Emcor will launch its Search for Miss Kawasaki Fury 2008 via a motorcade this Thursday.
The pageant which also doubles as a casual wear modeling event will be held this Saturday at the Emcor grounds along JR Borja-Corrales to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the retailer.
Seven candidates have already been handpicked to join the Search for Miss Kawasaki Fury 2008.
They are 20-year-old Inde Joan Espinosa, 17-year-old Michelle Santos, 20-year-old Ian Lou Seriño, 20-year-old Debbie Margaret Yu, 18-year-old Aiza Fabro, 17-year-old Mary Faith Oceñar and 16-year-old Pierre Cossid.
Most of the candidates have modeling backgrounds.
A veteran of Moda de Oro, Inde currently endorses Unilever and Ororama.
She has previous stints with Nokia and Kawasaki.
Inde is taking up BS Tourism at Liceo de Cagayan University.
Her colleague in Moda de Oro Debbie is currently doing the rounds in various high schools in the city to promote Nescafe Soundskool, a campus-based rock competition.
Debbie is a fresh BS Elementary Education graduate of Lourdes College.
Pierre prides herself as one of the chess and table tennis prodigies representing Corpus Christi School.
I say representing because she is currently on home study but is a certified Corpus Christi School elementary alumnus before she migrated for three years in the US.
A BS Information Technology stude from AMA where she won the Miss AMA (Cogon) 2006 title, Aiza is a dancesport enthusiast.
According to Emcor marketing manager Riza Entoma, the crowned Miss Kawasaki Fury 2008 will get P5,000 prize with the first and second runners-up getting P3,000 and P2,000 respectively.
The rest of the seven get P1,000 each plus selected appliance freebies.
