Monday, August 11, 2008 Meet Miss Kagay-an 2008 Candidate Gladdys Labis
GEORGINA Gladdys Labis or Jegla to friends is one unique 18-year-old.
Aside from the two ds in her second name, what makes her unique is she has entered college at the tender age of 15 taking up nursing at Xavier University.
Now that she's a graduating dudette, Jegla is already doing the rounds at Maria Reyna Hospital with fellow nursing interns older than her.
Does she mind? I guess not because she definitely enjoys being a student nurse.
Even the hectic Miss Kagay-an 2008 rehearsals do not get in the way of her OR duties.
"There is definitely no conflict in the scheduling. It's just a matter of managing your time," Jegla quips.
Another unique thing about Jegla is she was born in Libya. This is probably the reason why her studying was accelerated.
She counts among her favorites I Loved Dating Goodbye, Boy Meets Girl, The Notebook, Serendipity and The Wedding Singer - all nice mushy hits.
That's probably the reason she also loves Blaise Pascal's saying which goes like this: "The heart has its reason that reason knows nothing." Wow! (Mark D. Francisco)
