DTI Undersecretary Merly Cruz will grace the occasion together with Mayor Constantino Jaraula, Representative Rufus Rodriguez, Representative Teofisto Guingona III of the 2nd district of Bukidnon, Governor Oscar M. Moreno of the Province of Misamis Oriental, Governor Loreto Leo S. Ocampos, Chair of the League of Provinces of the Philippines and Governor of Misamis Occidental, Governor Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo.

Regional Development Council Chair and Governor of Camiguin and Vice Governor Alex Calingasan of Bukidnon will also be present.

DTI, organizer of Kahimunan Mindanao, has exerted all efforts to ensure that the event shall be festive, well-attended and more importantly, beneficial to both exhibitors and buyers.

Director Alice Euseña of DTI-Region 10 expressed her excitement about the fair.

More than 100 exhibitors of the best products that Mindanao can offer are expected to join.

Business matching services and a session on the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Financing Program Facility by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) are integral part of the activity.

Other than the exhibits, there will be regional presentations on tourism and investment opportunities for those who wish to venture in these areas.

A talk show featuring successful micro, small and medium business operators in Mindanao is also slated on August 24.

The show aims to inspire and encourage the existing and would-be entrepreneurs to strive harder and not to lose faith in our local industries.

Kahimunan Mindanao 2008 is conducted in partnership with the Promote CDO Foundation, Inc. (Promote CDO), Advocate of Philippine Fair Trade Inc. and the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc.-10A (Philexport-10A). (Press release)
