PMAP holds EQ training

PEOPLE (formerly Personnel) Management Association of the Philippines PMAP-Cagayan de Oro chapter will conduct a leadership EQ training entitled Applying EQ at Work on September 5, 2008 at the Pearlmont Hotel, Limketkai Drive this city. Registration fee is P1,000 which includes snacks, lunch and a CD on the training content.

This training workshop is designed to touch the hearts and minds of people at all levels at corporate, non-profit, and government organizations. The program’s components deliver an exhilarating experience that will win both management and staff over to the notion of developing and applying emotional intelligence in all their interpersonal interactions on a daily basis at work.

Speaker is PMAP national president Mr. Enrique Abadesco. Ric brings a unique mix of international business exposure, senior management perspective, and operating experience in sales, public relations, corporate planning, organization and management development. He was Senior Vice President-Corporate Human Resources of the San Miguel Corporation. Prior to SMC, he had more than 10 years of international expatriate postings with Exxon Corporation, the world’s largest petrochemical company. He joined Exxon Asia Pacific as regional Training and Organization Development (OD) Manager in Hong Kong, moved to Brussels as Senior OD Adviser and, in the last 4 years of his stint with the company, was Worldwide Employee and Quality Development Manager with the chemical additives division of Exxon Chemical Company based in the United States.

Considered a pioneer in the OD field in the country, Ric was the first OD manager of San Miguel Corporation in the mid-seventies. He was a founding faculty member of the Doctoral Program in Organization Development of the Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Institute (SAIDI) and is a member of the prestigious OD Network in the U.S.

In 1992, he served in the editorial board of the OD Network Journal and attended the Complex System Change Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

With an MBA degree from the Asian Institute of Management, Ric has attended various professional and executive development programs in the Philippines, Europe, and the United States.

His training aims to enlighten and inspire us to further value people as the real and enduring source of competitive advantage.
