BARANGAY Gusa and Barangay 27 bested other barangays in Cagayan de Oro City as "Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa" for rural and urban categories, respectively.
Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula presented the awards on Monday's flag raising ceremony at City Hall.
He was assisted by acting City DILG director Emil Rana, awards committee chairperson; city prosecutor and vice chairperson lawyer Fidel Macauyag and members; city police director Isagani F. Genabe Jr.; Bishop Adriano B. Villaester and Alirne Fe Cabacungan of the Community Affairs Division.
Barangay Gusa was adjudged as the "Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa" in the rural barangays after garnering a high 99.6 percent overall performance rating.
Rounding up the top 12 in the rural barangay category were: Kauswagan (94 percent), Nazareth (87 percent), Patag (85.4 percent), Bugo (85.3 percent), Puntod (84.8 percent), Balubal (84.6 percent), Tablon (84 percent), Camaman-an (81.2 percent), Lapasan (78.4 percent), Lumbia (77.4 percent) and Tignapoloan (76.2 percent).
In urban barangay category, Barangay 27 got a performance rating of 86.6 percent. Barangay 7 closely followed with a rating of 85.6 percent; Barangay 11, 75.6 percent, and Barangay 24, 75 percent.
The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards 2008 give due credit and recognition to outstanding barangays that performed well in the disposition of cases in the barangay level. (CIO)
