Reports on RP online shoppers
By Cherry T. Lim

DIGITALFILIPINO.COM has just launched the first issue of its monthly statistical report about the Filipino online shopper.

DigitalFilipino.com has been the country’s premiere e-commerce research site on the Internet since September 1999. It was founded by Janette Toral, also the founder of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society.

In the first issue of the DigitalFilipino.com Stats Report released in June, Amazon.com and MyAyala. com were named the favorite foreign and local shopping sites by Filipino online buyers, DigitalFilipino. com said.

Nearly 400 Internet users from all over the country were interviewed this year to come up with this report.

Amazon.com has remained the top shopping site of Filipinos in the last two years based on DigitalFilipino. com’s survey. More than half of the online buyers interviewed shopped at Amazon. com.

MyAyala.com, which ranked second in this survey and tied with eBay.com, is the only local site frequently named by the online buyers interviewed.

Printed monthly, the DigitalFilipino Stats Report gives analyses on local and international statistical developments in information technology, Internet, e-commerce, out-sourcing and wireless markets.

Its July issue will feature the Filipino mobile phone user.

The reports are available on a subscription basis at $150 per year for the first 120 subscribers and $300 thereafter, the website said.
