MG-349’s 5th straight win earned at expense of NS

MG-349 took its fifth straight win after defeating Norma’s Store, 66-59, in the Barangay T. Padilla Basketball Association (BTBA) tournament at the BTBA Gym last Sunday. Norma’s succumbed to their second straight loss in five games.

In the other game, Tiger’s Blue edged out the Wilkens Red Tigers, 73-70.

Former University of the Visayas stalwart, Gil Cabrera, was again the top scorer for MG-349 with 27 points while teammates Tata Cabaral and Ramil Ulan contributed 13 and 10 points respectively.

Edmund Comendador scored 16 for Norma’s Store while Arthur Cejudo and Edwin Amante chipped in 12 and seven points.

On the other hand, after being down by 14 points at the end of the first half, Tiger’s Blue surged on to go ahead, 45-28, for the win.

MG-349 (66) – Cabrera 27, Cabaral 13, Ulan 10, Llanos 6, Jose 6, Jose 2, Bontilao 2. Norma’s Store (59) – Commendador 16, Cejudo 12, Amante 7, Mumar 6, Llanos 6, Salcedo 4, Arnado 4, Galledo 2, Reyes 2. Halftime: 36-34.
