CIE’s GET program sends students to Northwood
The Centre for International Education Global Colleges (CIEGC) School of Business and Information Technology is sending higher education students to Northwood University through its Global Education Transfer (GET) program.
“This program is the only reason why I am in Northwood University now. It is really effective that is why I would like to recommend CIE’s GET program to everyone,” said Charles “Bobby” Gothong, a CIE student who is currently finishing his Bachelor of Business Administration major in International Business Management studies in Northwood University in Michigan, USA.
Through GET, CIEGC’s college students are given the option to finish their degree in its international affiliate universities like Northwood University in Florida, Michigan and Texas; Middlesex University in North London; Sussex University; University of Greenwich in South East London; Manchester Metropolitan University; Monash University and Deakin University in Melbourne; University of New Castle in Callaghan; and Northern Territory University.
“The whole process was shortened and facilitated with the tie-up between CIE and Northwood University. It certainly made life easier,” said Gothong’s father Bob, who is a business tycoon.
Campus life in Northwood is reportedly similar to that in CIE. “For me, it’s reaching another level in a friendly environment just like in CIE, where there is not much bureaucracy and it practices good teacher-student relationship. It gives me the chance to be more responsible on my own,” the younger Gothong said.
Bobby said his Philippine education in CIEGC has been very effective in providing him a strong foundation for a similar curriculum in Northwood. Competency-wise, he added that CIE gave him the edge especially that the English language is the first language used in class.
According to Bobby, his experience made him learn to become goal-oriented. “It prepares me for my next stage in life. After my US degree, I’m planning to work in Canada for a few years. Now I am more innovative and open to new ideas.
