Sports commission honors athletes
By Christian Ben Rodriguez

THE Cebu City Sports Commission will honor in a simple recognition ceremony members of the Cebu City taekwondo, gymnastics and athletics teams at the Cebu City Sports Center at 5 p.m. today.

CCSC chairman Jonathan Guardo applauded the indisputable performance of the teams saying, “The commission is very grateful for our very young athletes and I know that this is just a preview of what the group can really do.”

CCSC will give the taekwondo, gymnastics and athletics athletes certificates of recognition today for their outstanding performance during the recently concluded 6th Milo Little Olympics.

Attending today’s ceremonies are Cebu City Councilor Jack Jako-salem, along with sports commissioners Jay Alde-guer, Nimrod Quiñones, Calixto Pacquiao and Rolly Diorico.

Meanwhile, Guardo assured that Cebu City’s taekwondo team will see action in the 2002 National Age-Group Championships for slated Nov. 17 in Manila.
