Ice Castle, Chicharritos looking for franchisees By Cherry T. Lim
ENTREPRENEURIAL Cebuanos, take note. Here are some new business opportunities available for the new year.
Seven companies in Cebu are seeking to expand through franchising.
According to RK Franchise Consultancy, it has developed the franchises for the following firms: Chicharritos, Ice Castle Halo-Halo & Ice Cream House, Ruiz Derma and Spa, Mama Gie, Magic Melt, Thirsty and WYSSE Software Publishing Inc.
An Ice Castle franchise can be had for a franchise fee of P1.5 million. The term is six years, renewable.
For a minimum area of 100 square meters and investment of P1.7 million, the return on investment is estimated at one to two years.
For a Ruiz Derma & Spa franchise, the estimated total investment including the franchise fee is P3.5 million.
The minimum space required is 150 square meters, and the initial term for the franchise is five years, renewable again for five years.
Rudolf Kotik, founder of RK Franchise Consultancy, has said going into franchising carries many advantages for both the franchiser and the franchisee.
The franchiser would be able to expand quickly without having to invest in new stores himself.
On the other hand, the person who buys a franchise would no longer have to go through the labor pains of setting up an entirely new business himself and earning the goodwill of the consuming public, as he would already be buying the name of an established company, which would train him in the use of a tried-and-tested business system.
Kotik, a member of both the Philippine Franchise Association, urged those interested in franchising to check out www.rkfranchise.com.
