Y101 FM, Globe Telecom sponsor ‘Mulatto sa Cebu’
After a long day of roving the streets for the street dancing and float parade in the grand Sinulog mardi gras last Jan. 19, Cebuanos and tourists alike partied all night at the “Mulatto sa Cebu” Sinulog show held at the Jukebox parking lot.
Y101 FM and Globe Telecom, in cooperation with San Miguel Beer and Vortex Caltex, presented the show featuring Manila’s famous retro band, Mulatto.
The music of Cebu’s famous bands like Suburbia, Centerfold and Stagecrew also inspired the dancing crowd.
Mulatto’s retro music and impressive versions of songs like Rhythm of the Night and I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane amazed the partygoers. Sitting or standing, everyone sang along with the band’s four vocalists.
All four of them really have great voices! They’re very good. Most of my friends are overwhelmed. And as I could see, everyone in the party scene shares the same impression on Mulatto. They should come here more often for live performances,” said Bonbon Montero of Globe-Cebu.
Raymond “Jiggy” Cerna, one of the disc jockeys of Y101, hosted the event. Also attending the party were Y101 president Luis Tuason Luque, Councilor Jack Jakosalem and Jukebox owner Lord Yu. (Rudynah D. Entera, PR-features writer)
