Batches ’96A, ’99A, ’88 dump foes
By Rommel C. Manlosa

GRAND Slam titlists Eco-Tech Appliance ‘96A and last year’s runner-up Sinners & Saints ‘88 picked their fourth wins after beating separate rivals in the Cecaba 5th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup held at the CEC Gym.

Class ’96A banked on a fiery second half to trip Pencarica Investors 2001, 72-64, while Class ‘88 breathed fire to char Sungold ‘86, 82-59, to stay on top of the teams standings in their respective divisions.

In the other game, Class ‘99A arrested its two-game skid after beating Golden Dragon 2003, 69-53, making the youngest batch still winless after four games to occupy the cellar along with Tammy’s ‘60s in the other bracket.

Six of Class ‘88 players hammered double-digit contributions with Rey Kenneth Ng topping with 15 and Philip Lim adding 12. Erwin Yu and Gregorio Aguilar Jr. contributed 11 points each, while Richard Yu and Basil Ting finished with 10 apiece as Class ’88 stormed Class ‘86 with a 52-32 scoring to pad a 29-27 halftime lead into a one-sided affair in the next two quarters.
