Cinderella musical staging March 1, 8

The classical tale of love, Cinderella will come alive through a musical production slated on March 1 and 8 (1, 4 and 8 p.m.) at Casino Filipino’s Teatro Casino inside Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Lahug.

A production of Crystal Cavalier, the musical is directed by Brett Aleonar and choreographed by Jose “Joe” Galeon.

“Everyone knows Cinderella and it would be nice for people to see Cinderella on stage,” the production team said.

Cinderella is the timeless enchantment of the magical fairytale that is reborn with the Rodgers and Hammerstein hallmark of originality, charm and elegance.

Aleonar said they made slight changes in the scenes. “We adjusted some props; they are more colorful. We had one and a half months of preparation.

Music is live and symphony will be used,” he revealed.

Four ladies and men alternate as Cinderella and Prince, respectively. The cast includes Heather Hannilore Guilas, Kirsten Joy Andaya, Mary Grace Reyes and Sheyenne Therese Libres alternating as Cinderella; Gilbey Radin, Terence Ian Reroma, Reynaldo Zapanta and Ramil Rabillas alternating as the Prince; Christine Marie Bejec-Rosario and Cherie Lou Mendoza alternating as the stepmother; Vicel Tabar and R-Lyn Ygot as Fairy Godmother; Trishia Eunice Libres, Jareliese Mauro and Jacqui Jizmundo as Calliope; Janise Layaguin, Geraldine Sy and Elizabeth Larisma as Minerva; Meley Tabonares and Jennifer Murillo as the queen; Joseph Joshua Musca as the dancer; Jose “Joe” Galeon as Lionel; Eugene Ramirez as the king; Omar Tiozon as the father; Johanna Kristin Perpetua as the young Cinderella; Merryl Cayme as the young Calliope; and Kimberly Cabido as the young Minerva.

The production is sponsored by Marlon Garcia Wafer Model and Talent Management, Casino Filipino, McDonald’s Jones, Salad Dressing, Business Box, Episode Studio, Cebu Normal University and Islands Souvenirs. It features the designs and creations of Jojo Matibag, Jed Sevilla, Pewee Senening and Salad Dressing collections.

Tickets are available at McDonald’s Jones, Praise Cathedral, Casino Filipino, and Room 308 of the Amparito Lhuillier bldg. (in front of the USC-main campus on P. del Rosario st.) For more inquiries, one may call 0920-8064457. (Rudynah D. Entera, PR-features writer)
