Cebu bowlers pluck titles in PBC-Youth tourney
By Patrick C. Costelo

CEBUANO keglers ruled the first quarter of the Philippine Bowling Congress-Youth at the Gaisano Bowlingplex by nabbing all the medals in eight categories yesterday.

Jonathan Go of Bowling Tenpin Association (BTA) started the medal haul after plucking the Collegiate Boys category by beating Rommel Ceniza of BTA-Bowlmart, who settled for the silver, while Joseph Cabrera of Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association took the bronze.

BTA-Prima’s Elaine Uy took the gold in the Collegiate Girls division, while Sheena Go of BTA-Bowlmart won the silver medal.

The Boys Majors division saw BTA-Bowlmart’s Ryan Go scorch the lanes to take home the gold while Cetba’s Arnold Sy got the silver. BTA-Bowlmart’s Rohan Ceniza won the bronze.

Meanwhile, BTA-Prima’s sizzling trio of Nikke Tan, Michelle Lim and Jennifer Tan dominated the Girls Majors after clinching the gold, silver and bronze medals.

In the Juniors Boys category of the tournament participated by 57 young bowlers from Cebu City, Iloilo City and Parañaque City, BTA-Bowlmart’s Clarence Tiu and teammate Jomar Jumapao took the top two spots while Jennifer Tan of Cetba-Prima snatched the bronze.

Another Cetba-Prima kegler, Kimberly Lao, grabbed the Junior Girls gold, while BTA-Bowlmart’s Germaine Uang closed in for the silver. Rocci Damole of Cetba, on the other hand, copped the bronze.

On the other hand, Cetba’s youngest players won both the Bantam Boys and Girls gold.

Jonathan Aoyama delivered for Cetba, seizing the gold in the Bantam Boys cluster while teammate Alexis Sy snared the Girls Bantam. Jovi Manglapus of BTA reaped the Bantam Boys silver and BTA-Bowlmart’s Arthur Panuncillo, the bronze.
