Bombo,GMA 7 dispute solo lead in NBAC
By Patrick C. Costelo

TWO unbeaten teams collide today for the solo No.1 post as Bombo Radyo/dyHP/ABC-21 and GMA-7/Balitang Bisdak face off in the Newsmen Basketball Association of Cebu at the Guadalupe Sports Center.

Led by lightning guards Rey Gealon and Jessie Tabanao, Bombo Radyo currently leads the league with a 3-0 win-loss card tied with the Jun Solon-led GMA/Balitang Bisdak. Both squads swept their last three outings.

In the ensuing 10:30 a.m. game, current No.2 squad Sun.Star Cebu is gunning for its third win in a row as it faces the winless Freeman/dyHP. An undermanned Sun.Star lost its first game to Bombo Radyo in the tournament opening.

Freeman/dyHP, on the other hand, led by go-to-guy Manny Villaruel, will try to break its three-game skid in losing all its three assignments as it remains at the tailend at 0-3, tied with cellar-lurker Cebu Daily News.

In the final game, ABS-CBN/TV Patrol (1-2), which holds the third spot, will try to even its card as it faces CDN at 12 noon.
