Team relay, duathlon in Sunday’s Danao endurance tilts

ORGANIZING host team Rambo said a triath-lon relay and a duathlon competition will be the side events of the in this Sunday’s Enervon-National Age-Group Triath-lon (NAGT) Series opening race in Danao City.

The duathlon side event will have a Sprint distance course of 2.5 kilometers in the first phase (a run event), followed by a 20km bike event, and concluding with a 2.5km run for interested participants.

The triathlon relay will be using the NAGT’s Sprint distance of 750-meter swim, 20km bike and 5km run.

Winners for the side events will be given t-shirts and trophies.

Entry fees for the side events are P300. And the same with the NAGT, a 20 percent entry fee discount will be given to student participants who can provide proof of enrolment in the school year 2002-03 (ID or registration card).

Expected to grace the race are RP team head coach Raul Cuevas, Danao City Councilor Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, Trap’s Dong Sarmiento and Ener-von’s Ichu Arcan.

Aside from the RP Team-Developmental Pool members, many local triath-letes are expected to join including Peter Villamor, Mylene Jarina, Mary Ann Nillas, Edwin Angelo and former RP team tiathletes Nonoy Jopson and Winnie Marie Chan.

The next NAGT leg will be in Davao City on April 13.
