Waterfront, ETJ, AL&D lead Cebfa

WATERFRONT Hotel and Casino, ETJ Finance Corp. and AL&D Marketing share the early leadership following separate wins in the 3rd Cebu Basketball Friendship Association (Cebfa) tournament.

Waterfront beat Ng Khai, 66-52, even as ETJ handed Cebuana Lhuillier its second defeat, 64-56, and AL&D Marketing turned back Utility Assurance with an 81-73 stomping.

Jake Cortes and Keken Cabahug scored 16 and 11 points, respectively, for ETJ, which picked its second win despite the huge efforts of Glenn Yusingco, Marcelino Gacasan and Paul Fernandez.

Meanwhile, Christian Ceniza scored 20 and Marvin Villamor fired 13 for their second victory, while handing Utility A a loss after winning its first assignment.

Bankwise also scored a win, 58-53, over Poimen: Happy Mart in the opening game.

ETJ (64) – Cortes 16, Cabahug 11, Cabahug 10, Rama 9, Cenabre 8, Villacastin 6, Sestoso 5, Gorres 2, Polo 2. C. Lhuillier (56) – Fernandez 16, Yusingco 11, Gacasan 11, Batucan 4, Buenconsejo 3, Villaflores 3, Camapana 2, Manso 2, Mendoza 2, Ayuso 2.
