Would-be ‘rapist’ locked in woman’s room, caught
By Minerva B. Gerodias

A WOULD-BE rapist was arrested after he got locked inside the room of the woman he would have wanted to abuse yesterday dawn.

Oscar Devillerez, 43, was caught by barangay tanods and residents inside the room of the 45-year-old woman whom he allegedly attempted to rape.

Mabolo police women’s desk in-charge PO1 Ian Cerl Samson said Devillerez first harassed a 14-year-old girl who was sleeping with her grandmother in their house on Cabantan St., Barangay Luz, Cebu City.

But the girl woke up and cried for help. Her grandmother also woke driving Devillerez away. He jumped through the window.

Moments later, he went inside the house of the 45-year-old woman who was sleeping alone, as her husband was still out driving a taxi.

Devillerez allegedly kissed her, and she thought it was her husband’s kiss. When she looked to check, she saw a different man, so she fought with Devillerez.

She shouted for help and ran outside her room, locking Devillerez inside.

Her neighbors, who heard her, alerted the barangay tanods, who arrived and arrested Devillerez. The suspect was then brought to the Mabolo Police Station.

Devillerez lives in Apas but he went to Cabantan to visit his mother who lives there. He was allegedly drunk that time.
