Calape to host PBF title fight on July 11 By Rommel C. Manlosa
THE MUNICIPALITY of Calape, Bohol will host its first-ever Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) championship in the boxing spectacle “Pride of Bohol” on July 11 at the Calape Sports Complex.
The pride of Jagna, Melvin Ayudtud, who is ranked PBF No.1 in the featherweight division, will challenge the title held by Arnel Porras of Cotabato Province in a 12-round fight.
The card, presented by the Bohol Provincial Government led by Gov. Erico Aumentado through the efforts of Board Member and Bohol Sports Commission chairman Dionisio Balite, has a total of 64 rounds.
Also in the card is Boholano fighter Along Dinoy, the RP No.9 junior flyweight contender, against Robert Costelo of Cotabato Province for 10 rounds,
Boholano William Macas will try his mettle against Cebu-based Marvin Gumba for 10 rounds in the super-flyweight division, while Michael Agapay of the Anol Jaca Stable will fight Bernard Oclos of Cotabato Province in a 10-round encounter.
Completing the card are Julius Agcopra against Rey Mantisano for eight rounds, Arnel Tinampay against Sergio Tuñacao for six rounds, Junrey Buagas testing Lito Postrano also for six rounds, and Joh Clifford Ranan trying his skills against Richard Tampus in the curtain-raiser four-round action.
