Serna: Anna Fegi to launch new album, look By Roger Serna Sounds & Images
Yours truly was on an official business trip in the “city of stars” last weekend. Thus, a few scheduled big events in Cebu were sorely missed such as the “Weddings at the Waterfront” spectacle.
Another one was the DanceSports Preview held last Saturday at the Teatro Casino, still at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
I could just imagine marveling at 62 athletes of DanceSports Team Cebu City who will represent Cebu for the 2003 Dancesport Council of the Philippines Mid-Year Ranking scheduled on Saturday, July 12, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig city.
What made the event more exciting was the fact that of the 62 athletes, 24 are children aged five to 12 years, most of whom are products of the free workshops held in schools and barangays. That’s in keeping with the tag line “start `em young.”
Nevertheless, this writer heard that the event was a huge success. Well, with husband-and-wife team of Edward and Eleanor Hayco at the helm, no stones were left unturned to ensure success. And successful it was.

In that same trip, yours truly was able to drop by the main office of BMG Records Pilipinas in Cubao, Quezon city, and learned that paisana Anna Fegi is set to launch her new album anytime this month.
Anna will be sporting a new look to jive with the title of her new album. I won’t discuss the details so as not to preempt the big event. Anyway, the company promised to provide more info and the go-signal to announce whatever plans they have for the launching.
Just keep posted.
Tonight, invited members of the Cebu media will have the privilege to watch the Manila-based group Q&A in a media fellowship dinner organized by the Ayala Business Club Cebu Inc.
The affair will be held at the lagoon area of the Ayala Center Cebu starting at 6 p.m. This is actually a preview of the retro band’s post-summer shindig slated for the following day at the City Sports Club Cebu.
In the fellowship dinner, media practitioners can dance, jam and groove with “Manila’s hottest retro band.” On the other hand, patrons for the post-summer shindig dubbed “Dekada 60, 70, 80, 90 atbp.” will also experience the same thrill, high, excitement and enjoyment with the Q&A’s repertoire of songs popularized by famous artists like the Earth, Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, BeeGees, VST & Co. and others.
Proceeds of the concert are intended for the Habitat for Humanity Philippines-Cebu chapter. That means your patronage of the said show will help build homes for the less privileged. That’s shooting two birds with one stone and what valuable birds they turn out to be!
Last week, Krua Thai-Mactan branch celebrated its first anniversary with a dinner for its special guests and some members of the media. Invited guests were requested to wear Thai getups, the wearers of the most authentic ones had the chance to vie for the Mr. & Miss Krua Thai title for the night. How’s that for added excitement? Jose Recio of The Freeman was chosen the male winner.
The management led by Anthony, his very pregnant and charming wife, his beauteous mom, Carol, and the entire staff (Cedric and company) were on their toes attending to the guests and making sure that they enjoyed the food and practically every minute of their stay in the restaurant.
On that occasion, the management also announced that come July 13, that’s this Sunday already, Krua Thai’s newest addition will be formally opened. That’s a total of three branches or locations in just three years. What a feat!
The newest branch will be located at the SM City-Cebu thus making the restaurant more accessible and reachable to the ordinary Cebuano who goes for authentic, delectable, spicy and mouth-watering Thai food. Congratulations and more power!
