UC crushes DBTC for second victory
UNIVERSITY of Cebu (UC) preyed on the hapless Don Bosco Technical Center Team B, 68-37, to pick its second win in Group B in the Midget division of the 1st ML Kwarta Padala Cup Inter-School Basketball Tournament at the Don Bosco Technical Center Gym.
University of Southern Philippines (USP) also bounced back from an opening-day defeat as it buried Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy (IHMA), 82-52, also in Group B of the Midget Division.
The Bosconians held back the offense of UC in the opening quarter but lost steam in the second quarter as they allowed the visitors to drop a searing game en route to a 21-8 run that set the tone for the carnage.
With its offense faltering and UC boring holes on their defense, the young Webmasters went for the kill in the third quarter and did not look back to pocket another victory.
In the other game, Earvin Dennis Ferraren scored all his 14 points in the opening quarter and Camilo Aligno made nine of his 13 points early as USP stepped on the gas and never looked back to score its first victory in two games.
Winchester Café added 13, while Deiparine and Cabiles topped IHMA scoring with 12 and 10 points, respectively.RCM |
