MANILA—The term of Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin is over. The Vatican has finally accepted his resignation filed last Aug. 31, the day he reached the retirement age of 75.

Succeeding Sin’s post will be Lipa Archbishop Gau-dencio B. Rosales, who has been nominated to the See of Manila, considered the most influential seat in the country.
