Espina: Chinese laundry soiree at Marriott

It was truly a first-of-its kind “Out of the Box” cocktail reception hosted by the Cebu City Marriott Hotel (CCMH) to celebrate the Mooncake Festival.
General manager Karl Hudson and his team, all garbed in authentic Chinese attire, welcomed guests with the traditional dragon dance.
Then, the guests passed through the narrow corridor leading to the laundry area, typical of the early Chinese, authentic food and wine set in small tables. They milled around to drink and listen to lively Chino music.
Hudson said this incentivized get-together set the tone for future events where selected guests get to see Marriott’s kitchen, admin area, housekeeping area while enjoying culinary treats.
