Pascual: Kris devastated By Ben Pascual COMMENTARY
KRIS Aquino was born with a golden spoon on her mouth. She had a very enviable lifestyle and stable future, she being one of the heirs of the powerful Aquino family and wealthy Cojuangco clan in Tarlac.
The only lonely episode of her life when she was still a young lady was the assassination of her father in August 1983 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Aside from that, she had a rosy future, especially when her mother Cory was swept to the presidency in February 1986 through people power. Who would believe that her life, especially her love life, would end up in a mess like this?
When for the first time I learned that Kris had plunged herself into the world of showbiz against the
will of then president Corazon Aquino, I already prognosticated that like any other actress, she will have certain romantic relationships with popular showbiz personalities.
True enough, she started having affairs with Robin Padilla in her personal condo unit. And when she lost her appetite for sex with the bad boy of local cinema, she fell into the arms of Philip “Ipe” Salvador with whom she bore a boy named Joshua.
After Ipe, she laid her eyes on Parañaque Mayor Joey “Tiong” Marquez, legal husband of Alma Moreno. Alma was ejected by the mayor out of his home because of Kris Aquino.
Unfortunately, all the personalities who were involved with Kris were all married to the consternation of ex-president Cory and the entire Aquino family.
As to her most recent affair, in as much as both sides had already unfolded their dirty linens, I think it would be best for Kris Aquino to forget having a boyfriend or a partner at this point and abandon showbiz immediately. She must take a long vacation in the countryside or abroad so she could have peace of mind and regain her composure.
For Mayor Marquez, he will do a gallant act if he would finally forget Kris and return to his wife, Alma Moreno, with whom he has children who are his responsibilities before the eyes of God and men.
If he would take back Alma and children I think it will enhance his chances of winning the congressional race in his district in 2004. But if he should insist on forsaking Alma and their children, it could be the waterloo of his political career.
