Salon de Rose spends ‘millions’ for day spa

THE Rose Pharmacy group of companies (RPGC) has invested “millions of pesos” this year in the spa business to expand the scope of its healthcare services.

“The company wanted to expand and better our services to our existing and prospective clients in Cebu. We saw the need for a world-class spa facility in the area,” RPGC president Rosario Borja-Lim said.

Last Thursday, the group inaugurated the company’s first Salon de Rose Day Spa, located at the Ayala Center Cebu. The 196-square-meter spa is right beside the company’s 305-square-meter Salon de Rose beauty parlor.

Lim said the company plans to open spas in other areas where the Salon de Rose beauty parlors are operating. The company has Salon de Rose beauty parlors in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Iloilo and Manila.

Meanwhile, RPGC vice president for finance Rosemarie Wong said the company is doing “well” in its pharmaceutical trading business, despite the entry of Manila-based and foreign drug retail companies.

“The competition in the industry (drug trading) is friendly because the industry is still growing at a healthy rate,” she said.

Wong said the company has been able to compete with large pharmaceutical distribution firms. It has, in fact, established three convenience stores, like what other competitors have done.

Wong said the influx of generic medicines in the country had not affected the sales of Rose Pharmacy much.

Rose Pharmacy’s 65 branches in the country distribute only branded medicines.

In its day spa, Salon de Rose offers massage therapies and skin and body care treatments.

Clients can choose from the following massage therapies: Swedish, Japanese Shiatsu, deep tissue, traditional Thai, combination Shiatsu and Swedish, aroma therapy and reflexology.

Other treatments include hydradermie neck treatment, liftosome firming treatment, body care and facial care. JBN
