By Christian Ben Rodriguez

BILLIARDS enthusiasts have something to look forward to next month as the 2nd Sun.Star-SuperBalita 9-Ball Challenge kicks off Nov. 15 held at the 9-Ball Billiards in SM City Cebu.

A total of P180,000 in cash prizes await the winners of the five divisions namely, Class A, Class B, Women’s Open and the Age-Group for elementary and high-school kids.

Last year, more than 400 billiard players from different parts of Cebu and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao joined the competition. Organizers expect more participants this year.

The Age-Group competitions usher in the tournament on Nov. 15. Registration will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9-Ball.

Registration fee for the elementary level is P50, and P100 in the high-school division. Participants get a 50 percent discount if they have five copies of the 2nd Sun.Star-SuperBalita 9-Ball Challenge logo, which can be found on the sports page of SuperBalita.

Top 16 players per division of the Age-Group competitions will receive T-shirts, while champions and runners-up will win trophies and other gift items aside from the handsome cash prizes.
