Murder suspect arrested in Moalboal cockpit
A MAN long wanted for murder and attempted homicide was arrested in a cockpit in Moalboal town yesterday late afternoon.
A three-man team from Moalboal police headquarters was sent at 5 p.m. after receiving a report from local residents that wanted man Rolando Tabacon, 34, was roaming around the town’s cockpit.
No weapon was found on Tabacon, though, when the team led by PO3 Estanislao Avenido accosted him and brought him to the police station for detention.
SPO2 Pedro Gargar, Moalboal police desk officer, said Tabacon has a separate arrest warrant for murder issued by Branch 60 of the Regional Trial Court in Barili town and attempted homicide by the Municipal Trial Court of Moalboal.
He said Tabacon has many other criminal charges, which they will verify from the different courts in neighboring municipalities.
“This man is notorious in our town. We will still consolidate all the cases against him,” he said in Cebuano. AIV
