Milo Best national finals starts at Coliseum
By Christian Ben Rodriguez

UNIVERSITY of San Carlos-South Grade School and University of Cebu Little Webmasters battle it out against other regional champions as the Milo Best National Championships 2003 takes off at 7 a.m. today at the Cebu Coliseum.

The opening ceremonies will be graced by Nestle Philippines and Milo executives as well as Milo Best founder Nick Jorje, who is the also secretary general of the Basketball Association of the Philippines Inc. (Bapi).

Expected to give the South Graders a tough time in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) division is National Capital Region (NCR) champion Ateneo La Salle-Greenhills. Other teams that will compete in the same division are Luzon’s St. Scholastica and Mindanao’s Ateneo de Davao.

Passerelle Visayas champion UC Little Webmasters will have their hands full against the favored San Beda-NCR squad, Luzon champion St. John Institute and Mindanao titleholder Ateneo de Davao.

Milo Best Cebu coordinator Boots Cabahug told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday that the highly-favored La Salle Greenhills team came in early for a two-day practice yesterday and last Thursday, as the coaching staff is seriously eyeing the SBP title.

Cabahug added that the height advantage of the NCR team will be a prime factor in its quest for the national crown.
