Sevilleno retains Danao title

CHRISTY Sevilleno affirmed her status as Cebu City’s fastest woman after she dominated anew the year-ending “Halad kang Mano Amon” run in Danao City last Wednesday.

Sevilleno, the race’s two-time defending champion, plucked a grand slam with her victory after she bested the up-and-coming track star from Toledo City, Joery Ann Lee, and Maria Fe Sabanal for the title in the Women’s Open.

Lee landed second behind Sevilleno, while Sabanal settled for third.

In the Men’s Open, as expected, Tirso Pamaybay dominated the division after defending champion Bowen Montecillo, again failed to join the race.

Montecillo has been absent from several big running competitions lately including the Queen City marathon after he got injured in the national finals of the Milo Marathon in Manila.

Coming in behind Pamaybay was Arvin Loberamis, while the veteran Cristituto Cañete landed at third place.

Ricky Kiamco, for his part, wallowed in the limelight after he ruled the Men’s Open of the All-Danao category, while John Philip Dueñas and Jerry Laurente secured second and third places, respectively.

The Women’s All-Danao category saw Flordelis Panot, Emie Enriquez and Rhea Bayawa dominating the top three places.
