Utzurrum: The corporate and business circuit By Chinggay Utzurrum Art&culture
DHL, one of the most dynamic initials in the corporate world, and understandably the leading express and logistics company globally, has just marked an expansion of its Philippine operations. It has just inaugurated its new Customs Bonded Warehouse (CBW) No. 87 in Cebu! In this manner, the CBW will allow direct routing and faster clearance of inbound international shipments into our Queen City.
According to country manager Charles Brewer, “as the country’s partner in facilitating trade, this signifies DHL’s commitment to serve our Filipino customers better, as we strive to establish facilities that will increase our efficiencies, reliability and enhance ability to offer even faster delivery services.”
The spankingly new warehouse is located within the vicinity of the Mactan (Cebu) International Airport, and shipment processing time starts as early as 8 a.m., thereby cutting transit time as much as one day! Furthermore, because the Bureau of Customs is housed in the warehouse, customs clearances are done in one location as soon as the packages arrive. Certainly, it’s a boon to their many clients!
DHL’s harmonized international network links more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. Based in Brussels, Belgium, DHL is 100% owned by Deutshe Post World Net;

Did you ever realize that to look good, you must first feel good, and that could only mean, physically and mentally toned up. And this includes your senses… and here… we specifically zero in on the sense of hearing! And what better center to do this?
The Manila Hearing Aid Center (MHAC) is now in Cebu! Now more than two decades old, the MHAC was first established in 1976 with a lofty mission: “Capable of offering its clients with the best engineering facilities and the highest standard of service.” They have certainly achieved this with many firsts: first hearing aid center in the Philippines, with computerized testing and hearing aid fitting system; First to be duly accredited by the Philippine Society/Board of Otolaryngology; also they were ahead in diagnostic audiology, the science of hearing;
First hearing center to use soft silicone earmold, Bera (brainstem evoked response) and OAE (otoacoustic emissions) instrumentation; and first hearing care center in the country to have a certified resident Filipino audiologist trained and graduated from Macquire University of Sydney, (Australia).
While hearing-impairment is caused by a number of factors, the first step is to consult with experts who can prescribe effective and proper management for the patient’s own unique hearing problem.
MHAC offers that management, through personalized consultation and diagnostic testing.
Today with seven branches in Metro Manila, MHAC is now in Cebu at SM-City-Cebu. Second level. Look for these accommodating personnel: Liza Abaño-audiologist; Leizeil San Pedro-audiometrist; Ann Fonacier-manager; Cheryl Auxilio-medical receptionist and Herson Chin-technician; or one may call 231-8445.

And now you’re ready for Meddah Spa, for the ultimate in world-class day spa facilities. Located at Unit R & S at Crossroads Mall in Banilad, Meddah, meaning “loving care” in Sanskrit, is the first of its kind, with an Oriental motif.
Mood speaks of the mysteries of the exotic East…. its soothing, healing balms and treatments… its smooth massage techniques that leave you totally free from stress-related tensions. In short, its holistic approach to fitness blends healing with communion with nature.
Meddah’s superb interiors were done by Nina Lim-Borromeo, and she’s dotted the distinctly Oriental surroundings with touches of Thai, Balinese and Japanese accents. How relaxing can the sight and feel of bamboo be?
According to proprietors Stephen Zenz and Haydee C. King, their Think Tanks started churning when Stephen’s good friend Merly Schurch arrived from Langkawi (Malaysia) with five-year work experience from a resort-spa there. The rest is history!
For starters, try Meddah’s unique body treatments. Facial therapies, foot and hand therapies and the one-and-only (in Cebu) stone massage!
For the sheer luxury of it all, you can’t beat the lomi-lomi massage with its Hawaiian origins! The original Meddah massage combines the popular Shiatsu with the Swedish and reflexology!
