By Jade S. Violeta

MEMBERS of the Team Cebu City-Tennis will start the year with another quest for glory when they compete in the Andrada Cup national juniors tournament in Manila on Jan. 3-9.

TCC-Tennis head coach Fritz Tabura told Sun.Star Cebu that Cebu City Sports Commission chairman Jonathan Guardo has approved the sending of the TCC Tennis members to the Manila tournament.

During the trip, Tabura will visit the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) office to follow up on Guardo’s request to have the Osaka Junior Tennis Circuit accredited and sanctioned.

The Osaka Junior Tennis Circuit is a monthly tournament whose purpose is to give the members of the TCC Tennis exposure.

The Osaka Junior Tennis Circuit has already staged three legs this year where the TCC-Tennis members showed their dominance over their counterparts from different clubs.

The TCC Tennis members just finished competing in the 2nd Cebu City Mayors Cup at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club tennis courts.

Jin Querubin, who bagged two championship titles in the 2nd Cebu City Mayors Cup, will lead the TCC-Tennis’ campaign in Manila alongside Floureza Alesna, Sally Mae Siso and Sallydine Siso.

Also expected to see action for the TCC-Tennis squad is University of Cebu’s Janjie Soquiño, Niño Siso and James Carl Cañete.
