Metrobank Foundation launches search for outstanding teachers
Metrobank Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (Ched), has launched its annual Search for Outstanding Teachers.
It is open to educators with full-time status and with full load in the elementary, secondary and college/university or higher education institutions, who have been actively teaching in the Philippines for the past 10 years. Each school is entitled to one nominee for each category. The nominees must be endorsed by the head of the school.
Each awardee will receive P200,000 as cash prize, part of which is for the faculty development program of his/her school. The awardee will also receive a medal and a trophy, and the school, a plaque of recognition. Finalists and semi-finalists not chosen as winners will receive P20,000 and P10,000 as prize, respectively and certificates of recognition.
Since its launch in 1985, the project has awarded 226 elementary, high school, technical-vocational, and college teachers from both private and public schools all over the country.
One may visit the nearest Metrobank branch for the nomination forms or call 255-1546 for further details. Deadline for submission of nomination forms is on Jan. 26.
