100 racers compete in SRP today By Christian Ben Rodriguez
OVER 100 speedsters from different parts of the country take the road today as the “2004 Adrenalin Rush-2” The National Drag Race Competition kicks off at 9 a.m. at the South Reclamation Project (SRP).
Among the teams to watch in today’s qualifying is Cebu’s top racing group, DGL Racing Team D-Force and Team Hilton Motor Racing.
The D-Force squad will be fielding the Nissan Skyline, which copped the Class A title in the Adrenalin Rush-1. The car’s owner, David Lim, will also field in his Evo-5, which did not see action during the first drag race because the engine, which was imported, did not arrive on time.
Meanwhile, DGL’s arch rival Capitan Echavez of Hilton Motor Racing will also try to set up the Philippines’ fastest car record donning his Honda Civic Hatchback turbo-charge.
Backing up the Hilton squad are Hilton Motors John Mark Padero, who will try to defend his title in the Quick-8 division.
Another Hilton-backed driver, Peterson Lim, will also be another driver to watch with his fully modified Honda S.I.R.
