RCBC launches remittance online
RIZAL Commercial Banking Corp. last Monday announced the launch of Telemoney Direct, the first Internet remittance service in the world to adopt “Verified by Visa,” Visa International’s global Internet authentication service.
Located at www.rcbc.com, Telemoney Direct allows Filipinos around the world with Visa credit and debit cards enrolled for Verified by Visa to send remittances instantly to beneficiaries in the Philippines.
Telemoney Direct is also the Philippines’ first Verified by Visa-enabled website.
Telemoney Direct offers convenient, anytime, anywhere access. Unlike traditional bank transfers or remittance services, there are no manual forms to fill up nor any complicated registration process for the sender to complete before using Telemoney Direct.
The Visa cardholder can simply initiate a transaction at any time through the Internet from the comfort of his home or office.
Upon system confirmation, funds are instantly credited to the beneficiary’s RCBC deposit
account.
Through the line of credit on Visa credit cards, remitters can also immediately provide for the urgent needs of their beneficiaries, especially during times when they do not have ready cash.
Verified by Visa enables remitters to authenticate themselves to their card-issuers through a pre-registered confidential password known only to the cardholder, thereby preventing any unauthorized use of their Visa cards.
Anton Romulo, Visa’s country manager for the Philippines, said: “... Overseas Filipinos are looking for a money transfer service that is convenient, affordable and safe... By incorporating Verified by Visa into the website, Telemoney Direct is one of the most secure remittance portals in the world today.”
